Default VIP Performance's (update) River Run Rally II.... - 04-14-2010, 09:31 AM

Its spring, and it is time to do some driving events.

Last year Jeff and I wrote a road rally that was in, and around Portland, we called it the River Run rally. Out of a total of 120 points available, the highest score achieved was 68......

I think we can still use this rally.......so we are digging it out again, and adding a few tweaks to make it better. Wryann over @ VIP Performance has graciously offered us some prizes! What we need to know is when to run it.

Sundays are usually better than Saturdays. More people usually have free Sunday. Since we are already in the middle of April, lets shoot for early to mid May (1st, 2nd, or 3rd weekend???)

Re-edited.... date is no longer the 16th, but is now the 23rd of May, 1st car off @ 10:30 This is do to a schedule conflict with the Oregon Trail Rally also on the 16th

There will be prizes! I'll try to get some more operationally destroyed auto parts

I KNOW I can get more chocolate!

Last year I offered a $20 cash prize to anyone who got a perfect score. This year I'm sweetening the pot - a perfect score this year.... gets you a fully street ported 4AG head (you supply the head, I supply the port work!!)

And if that isn't enough... I'll throw in a set of Toda valve springs

A perfect score = head work & springs = $350 value!!!

More to follow......

Sounds Super Fun!!

My car is for driving, and hard, to its limits, for my own enjoyment, not for looking pretty for others to ogle.

All Show, No go: not a good thing to have.

Hmmmm, ok, lets pick May 23rd as the "new" target date.

first car off @ 10:30 am should get everyone done well before evening

Well, thanks to Loynings, I was able to acquire the following.....

What you see above is a 4AGE piston made by JE Piston. The damage you see is from where the broken crank(Arnie tells me @ about 8800) scraped across the bottom of the piston..
...the damage you don't see has caused the rings to be JAMMED in their landings when the piston hit the head!!
